Turlough was called to the Bar in 2017 and enjoyed a pupilage primarily focused in Criminal Law and currently accepts instructions in all of areas of law.
He has particular experience representing defendants in criminal proceedings at Magistrates’ Court, County Court, and Crown Court level. He is also instructed on behalf of a number of appellants challenging their convictions in the Court of Appeal of Northern Ireland.
Turlough regularly appears before the Parole Commissioners for Northern Ireland on behalf of prisoners seeking release and has experience successfully representing indeterminate custodial, and life sentence prisoners. Turlough also appears before the Mental Health Review Tribunal on behalf of patients detained under The Mental Health (Northern Ireland) Order 1986 who are seeking discharge.
