Biography

Timothy specialises in civil and commercial litigation. He has particular interest, experience and skill in commercial, employment, and High Court personal injury cases. Timothy also has additional experience and skill in licensing cases.

Experience

Timothy’s practice has a focus upon commercial disputes, employment cases, High Court personal injury litigation and licensing applications. Since his call, Timothy has developed his practice so that he now stands as a leading specialist in employment law in Northern Ireland, having regularly appeared for Claimants and Respondents at first instance and at appellate level. In addition to a busy employment law practice, advising and representing a wide range of clients, Timothy also has a strong civil litigation practice in the High Court. He has developed significant experience in dealing with complex and very high value personal injury cases for both Plaintiffs and Defendants alike. Additionally he has particular experience and skill in Liquor Licensing cases, having acted successfully for many leading bars, restaurants, off-licences and hotels within the jurisdiction. He has experience in representing a wide range of statutory bodies and dealing with legacy cases in Northern Ireland. As well as being a member of the DLS Civil Panel, representing Health Trusts across Northern Ireland, he also has experience in representing educational bodies in Northern Ireland, including the Education Authority and various schools. Additionally he has experience in acting for Plaintiffs and Defendants in employment related group litigation cases. Timothy is a current committee member of the NI ELG and is also a member of the Employment Lawyers Association (UK). He is also a member of the Personal Injury Bar Association and the Commercial Bar Association.
