Biography

Taryn regularly appears as criminal defence counsel in applications and contested hearings in the Magistrates’ Court, Crown Court and County Court.

She has been instructed in various complex cases and has appeared as a Court Appointed Advocate in harassment-related proceedings both in the Crown Court and the County Court.

Taryn has significant experience of working with vulnerable individuals, particularly those with substance misuse difficulties, mental health difficulties and young people.

In addition to criminal defence work, Taryn has represented both Plaintiffs and Defendants in County Court and High Court civil litigation to include:

- Personal injury;

- Human rights law;

- Protection from harassment;

- Debt recovery;

- Contract law;

- Education appeals.

In recent years, Taryn has been involved in the mooting programme at Ulster University, acting as a coach to teams and a judge for internal moots. She has also acted as a guest examiner for Public Law and Tort modules.
