Biography

Michael practises across a broad range of areas, including land and commercial matters.

He was called to the Bar of Northern Ireland in September 2025 following a 16-year career as a consultant engineer in the built environment. During that time he advised public and private sector clients on infrastructure and development projects. His work included analysing contracts, assessing tender submissions, and addressing technical and commercial issues arising during project delivery.

Michael holds an advanced contract qualification from the Institute of Civil Engineers. His previous professional work involved presenting advice and advocating client positions to project partners, regulators, and decision-makers.

He has particular insight into matters involving land, property, construction, development, and environmental management.

Michael holds an MLaw, MSc, and BSc. He is a Chartered Member of the Chartered Institution of Water and Environmental Management (CIWEM).
