Biography

I have a civil practice with a specialisation in administrative and public, commercial, planning, regulatory and EU Relations/International law. I have acted in public law and commercial disputes for private and public bodies.

I am a Senior Counsel at the Bar of Ireland and member of the Law Library, Dublin. I am a Queen’s Counsel at the Bar of England and Wales and a member of Brick Court Chambers, London. From 2002 – 2005, I was a legal secretary (référendaire) to the Irish judge at the Court of Justice of the European Union.

Qualifications

I graduated from Oxford University with a B.A. in Jurisprudence and a B.C.L. (Hertford College). I studied at the College of Europe, Bruges. I qualified from the Inns of Court School of Law (London) and the Honourable Society of the King’s Inns (Dublin).

Experience

I have appeared before the High Court (Judicial Review and Commercial) and the Court of Appeal. I have appeared before the Supreme Courts of the United Kingdom and of Ireland. I have led around 90 cases before the Court of Justice of the European Union.
