Biography

I provide ADR services to clients and their legal and professional representatives under be-spoke Contracts which ensure privacy and confidentiality. On 4^th. October 2013 I completed my fiftieth appointment as a Mediator. I have dealt with a diverse range of cases involving Professional Negligence , Building & Construction problems, Manufacturing/supplier disputes, Clinical Negligence, PublicProcurement, Company,Partnership and Employment issues.

As a Mediator my approach is impartial, independent facilitative. I do not adjudicate but I am a firm believer in parties having early a full and early appreciation of the financial and practical realities of their dispute. Thirty four years of practice at the Bar has given me the a substantial background experience and considerable insight into the psychology of dispute.

I also provide Early Neutral Evaluation and binding or non-binding Determination in relation to legal and professional issues .

Qualifications

In 2000 I successfully completed ADR training and formal assessment at the Centre for Dispute Resolution ( CEDR) inLondon

In 2001 I became an accredited Member of CEDR. Over the last thirteen years Ihave completed fifty Mediations . I have also been involved in research and teaching of medication processes and practices for lawyers on courses organised by the Queen’s University of Belfast and the Institute of Professional and Legal Studies.

In 2002 I became a member of the Mediator Panel of Dispute Resolution Service administered by the Law Society, Belfast.

In 2010 I became a Certified member of the Mediator’s Institute of Ireland, Dublin and following examination, I became a Qualified Dispute Resolver of the Academy of Experts, London in 2012.
