Called to Northern Ireland Bar in 2008. Undertook pupillage with a Master who specialises in all areas of family (both private and public law), domestic and matrimonial law. Gained in depth experience in these areas and since completion of pupillage in 2008/2009 I have had a specialised, consistent and regular practice in the areas of family, domestic, ancillary relief and matrimonial law. I largely practice in Newtownards Family and Domestic Proceedings Court and Belfast Family Care Centre, but can attend any Court if available.


Studied Law at Nottingham Trent University 2004-2007 and obtained my LLB (Hons) degree. I then completed my postgraduate studies and undertook the Bar Course at the Institute of Professional Legal Studies, Queens University Belfast 2007-2008. I was then subsequently called to the Bar of Northern Ireland in September 2008.


I have experience in all areas of family law including the following: - Private Law applications under Article 8 of the Children’s Order; - Domestic and maintenance cases; - Public Law proceeidngs including care and contact issues; - Matrimonial law including divorce and ancillary relief proceedings. I largley practice in the family and domestic proceedings court in both Newtownards and Belfast and also in Belfast Family Care Centre. I would occasionally practice in Belfast High Court also.
