Biography

Called to the Bar of Northern Ireland in 2016 and is available to accept instructions in all areas of practice.

Appointed in 2018 to the Government Legal Services Panel of Counsel (D Panel) and is able to take instructions from the Departmental and Crown Solicitors.

Strong background in criminal defence work, appearing regularly in the Magistrates’ & Youth Courts, as well as County Court appeals against conviction and sentence. Experienced in bringing applications for Judicial Review and emergency Habeas Corpus matters before the Divisional Court, and has acted in Crown and High Court bail applications.

Broad expertise in a wide range of actions within the civil sphere, including disputes as to land and commercial contracts, trespass, eviction, inquests and personal injury at the County and High Court levels, as well as employment disputes, Criminal Injuries compensation appeals and Extradition hearings, and is keen to expand his practice in these areas.

Has acted in an advisory capacity to a governmental Department whilst engaged in legislative review on the use of the Irish Language in Governance, Court and other official capacities.
