Biography

I have increasingly specialised in commercial law and professional negligence, especially involving solicitors. Extensive experience in land law including rights of way, prescription and restrictive covenants. Acted for UTV and BBC in privacy defamation applications and actions. Advise numerous public bodies on matters of procurement and public law. Wide experience of appellate work, especially in employment law. Counsel in the landmark civil action involving the Omagh bombing. Also involved in medical negligence on behalf of the Health Trusts and in numerous personal injury cases, including higher value cases requiring Periodical Payment Orders. Appointed arbitrator with MIB since 2006. Coronorial experience at inquest and judicial review. Instructed in the hyponatraemia inquiry. Increasing adjudication and construction law practice.
